SUV Hits Embankment

A westbound 2000 Ford Explorer struck with an embankment in the median strip along Interstate 70, according to state police, on Friday afternoon.

Derek M. Scheller Jr., of Pittsburgh, lost traction and control of his sport utility vehicle on the Brush Creek Township roadway at 2:23 p.m. The vehicle travelled onto the southern berm and struck the embankment. Scheller, 24, was wearing a seat belt and escaped injury. He will be charged with tire equipment and traction services.

State police were aided on the scene by Painter’s Towing.
