Phyllis A. Forney
Phyllis Ada Forney, 89, Lewisberry, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at her home.
She is survived by her husband, William D. Forney, with whom she celebrated her 70th wedding anniversary in August 2010.
She was a daughter of the late Howard W. and Zola D. (Barnett) Warsing of Wells Tannery.
She attended the former Central Pennsylvania Business College in Harrisburg prior to her marriage. Her married life took her from the islands of Vieques, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico to Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and back to Pennsylvania.
A faithful Christian and member of Grace Baptist Church of Lewisberry, she enjoyed singing in church choirs and playing the piano. She loved being a homemaker and being mother to her children and to all of her children’s children.
She is survived by a daughter Sharron, wife of David G. Sedziol of Pataskala, Ohio; son David, husband of Susan, York; son Melvin, husband of Kay, Etters; and son Philip, husband of Kathleen, Elizabethtown;, grandchildren: Jonathan Sedziol, husband of Bethany, Columbus, Ind.; Joel Sedziol, husband of Diane, Johnstown, Ohio; Jason Sedziol, husband of Charla, Pataskala, Ohio; Trisha, wife of Mitchell Seitz, Dover; Megan, wife of James Fry, Red Lion; Shawn Forney and Christy of Rheems; Sherri- Lynn Forney, Elizabethtown; William Forney, Exton; Shannon Forney, Etters; Allison Forney, Fredericksburg, Va.; and David Way and Samantha of Baggs, Wyo.; and great-grandchildren: Abigail, Alexis, Samuel, Carley, Tyler and Sydney Sedziol; Logan, Macy and Leah Seitz; Ryan and Justin Fry; Jared, Devin and Gavin Forney; Nova Artko; and Morgan, Elizabeth and Brenna Way.
She was preceded in death by sisters: Gladys Peterson and Dorothy Eichelberger, and son Timothy Doyle Forney.
A graveside service will be held at Good’s Cemetery in Elizabethtown at 9:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of her life at Grace Baptist Church at noon on Thursday, April 14. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church at 780 Woodland Ave., Lewisberry, PA 17339.
