Helen G. Barnett
She was born July 18, 1934, in Dublin Mills, Taylor Township, Fulton County, the daughter of the late Clarence and Emma (McCoy) Taylor. She was married to Glenn E. Barnett on October 26, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2000.
She is survived by two sons and five daughters: Mrs. Glenn ( Linda) McLaughlin, Chambersburg; Glenn Barnett Jr., Chambersburg; Mrs. Merle (Diane) Stine, McConnellsburg; Dolores Kelly, Mc- Connellsburg; Roger Barnett, McConnellsburg; Glenda Swartz, McConnellsburg; Mrs. Rick (Teresa) Lake, Needmore; 17 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Myrtle Wible, of Fort Littleton.
Twelve brothers and sisters preceded her in death: Charles McCoy, Harold Taylor, Clarence Taylor Jr., Merle Taylor, Mary Wright, Isabel Dixon, Mabel Snyder, Olive Ramsey, Dorothy Wilson and George, Elsie, and Alice Taylor, who died in infancy.
She was of the Protestant faith. She held weekly Bible study at her home for family and friends. In addition, she gave faithfully to the “Feed the Children” program and to TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) Ministries.
She consistently maintained a diary for a great many years. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and visiting with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as friends and neighbors.
She was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Pastor Toby Mellott and Asst. Pastor Louis Wright officiated. Interment was made in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Harrisonville.
