Driver Swerves To Miss Deer
A Harrisonville resident was taken by ambulance to Fulton County Medical Center last Tuesday after he swerved to miss a whitetailed deer on Route 30.
Leslie Sendek was travelling westbound when he spotted a deer near the intersection of Possum Hollow Road at 10:34 p.m., state police reported. Sendek, 55, lost control of the westbound 2005 Dodge Stratus, which crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a guiderail. The car continued down an embankment for approximately 20 yards before coming to a rest.
Sendek was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. State police will issue a citation for driving while operating privileges are suspended in connection with the accident in Licking Creek Township.
