Driver Falls Asleep At Wheel
A McConnellsburg man faces charges of careless driving after he fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle on Saturday, April 2.
Thirty-two-year-old Jesse A. Vance was heading eastbound on Forestdale Road when he fell asleep at 5:30 a.m., state police said. The 2000 Oldsmobile Alero crossed into the oncoming lane and onto the berm before Vance was able to steer the car back onto the Licking Creek Township roadway. The vehicle then went back across the eastbound lane, onto the berm and into a field.
Vance was not wearing a seat belt but escaped injury.
