Oscar F. Weller

Mercersburg, 59

Oscar F. “Ozzie” Weller, 59, Mercersburg, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born May 22, 1951, at Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Clyde and Ruth Peck Weller.

He was a graduate of McConnellsburg High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

He was employed for 28 1/2 years at JLG Industries, McConnellsburg. Most recently he worked at Whitetail Ski Resort in the mountain operations department.

He was a member and former trustee of Presbyterian Church of Mercersburg, and board member of Mercersburg Council for the Arts. He was a former member and trustee of Mc- Connellsburg Presbyterian Church.

He had been active in and served as past president of McConnellsburg Jaycees and McConnellsburg Fire Police Association. He was instrumental in the organization of the Mercersburg Farmers Market.

His personal interests included camping, traveling and motorcycle riding. He was a true craftsman who could make and build anything. He loved taking care of his home and helping others do so.

Surviving are his wife, Naomi Brown Weller, whom he marrieid June 3, 1978; two daughters: Amanda B. (Mrs. Berkley) Cline, Mercersburg, and Christy Coltrin and her husband Brad Oldham, Dallas Texas; a son, Robert Coltrin, and his fiance, Jennifer Weis, Atlanta, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.

Ozzie’s family and friends will most remember his love and kindness.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg. Revs. Charles Kampmeyer and Anthony Lorenz officiated.
