Harry R. Gordon

Mercersburg, 90

Harry R. Gordon, 90, Mercersburg, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Pinnacle Health Services in Harrisburg.

He was born January 7, 1921, in McConnellsburg, to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gordon. He was the widower of the late Ceda Robinson Gordon, who died June 25, 2005.

He was retired from Penn-DOT where he had been a supervisor.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He enjoyed huting and butchering.

He was a life member of Mercersburg VFW, a member of Mercersburg American Legion and a charter member of Mercersburg Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his two children: Beverly (wife of Harold) Clevenger, Mercersburg, and Lannie Gordon, Mercersburg; seven grandchildren: Matthew Gordon, Lana Gordon Doughtery, Nicole Meyrs, Tammy Barto, Todd Sixeas, Jeff Sixeas and Jennifer Sixeas; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was the last of his immediate family.

In additoin to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and his daughter, Bonnie Sixeas.

Memorial services were held at 7 p. m., Monday, March 28, at Kelso- Cornelius Funeral Home Ltd., St. Thomas. Rev. Kevin Lay officiated. Burial was private and at the convenience of the family.
