Swerves To Avoid Deer

A white-tailed deer crossing old Route 30 caused an accident Friday, March 18, Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg said.

Driver Jerry L. Miller, Chambersburg, swerved to avoid hitting the deer and travelled onto the southern berm where his 1995 Chevrolet Tracker struck an embankment. Miller, 29, was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. He was treated and released from Fulton County Medical Center.

Miller will be cited by state police with driving on roadways laned for traffic as a result of the 6:30 a.m. accident.
