Mary R. Golden
Mary Ellen Golden, 72, Waterfall, died at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.
Born October 17, 1938, in Three Springs, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Viola (Miller) Hoffman. She was married to Julius Martin Golden on August 10, 1963. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2008.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra D. Peterson, McConnellsburg, and a son Daryl D. Golden, Schertz, Texas; a stepdaughter, Debra Lee Mc- Cready, Duncansville; and three grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Mae Marvaline Marlin and husband Charles, Three Springs; Evan C. Hoffman and wife Betty, McConnellsburg; Almeda G. Schooley and husband Dale, Mercersburg; Martha G. Curfman and husband George, Three Springs; Ronnie E. Hoffman and wife Linda, McConnellsburg; Willis L. Hoffman and wife Peggy, McConnellsburg; Connie E. Shives and husband, Frank, McConnellsburg; Randy L. Hoffman, Waterfall; Maxine F. Newman and husband Tom, Waterfall; and Max R. Hoffman and wife Rayetta, Three Springs.
Two brothers, Carl J. Hoffman and Donnie D. Hoffman, are deceased.
She was a member of Center United Methodist Church, Waterfall, where she was active in the United Methodist Women’s group.
In earlier years, she had worked at Elco, Huntingdon, and Waring, Inc., Mc- Connellsburg. She later retired from JLG Industries, McConnellsburg.
Prior to moving to Waterfall, she had lived many years in the Three Springs area.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Center United Methodist Church, Waterfall. Pastor Betty Secrest and Pastor Sam Stoey officiated. Interment was made in Center Cemetery.
M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, was in charge of arrangements.
