Kenneth F. Wisner
Kenneth Fowler Wisner, 81, McConnellsburg, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, Md. He had been in failing health for the past three weeks.
He was born October 27, 1929, in Union Mills, Md., the son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Fowler) Wisner.
He spent his early life in the Westminster, Md. area, was a 1946 graduate of Westminster High School and a graduate of The University of Baltimore.
He served in the U. S. Army, was employed at various companies as an accountant and was currently employed at Christian Social Services. He was a member of McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, the Gideons and DeMolay State Master Counselor 1950, Howard Lodge AF& AM #101 of Maryland, a 32nd Degree Mason, with 59 years of service and held various positions within these organizations.
He married Helen (Couch) Wisner on February 14, 1953, in Ft. Mead, Md. She preceded him in death in May of 1986.
He is survived by his second wife, Beverly Wisner, whom he married on October 24, 1987; two sons: Paul Wisner of Waynesboro; Mark (husband of Kimberly) Wisner of Quincy, Pa.; stepson Rodney (husband of Bonnie) Buterbaugh of McConnellsburg; granddaughters Sarah (wife of Craig) Gorzelsky, Rachel Wisner, both of Quincy; step-grandchildren, Rodney Junior and Morgan Buterbaugh of McConnellsburg; great-grandson, Luke Gorzelsky of Quincy, Pa., and brother Carl (husband of Doris) Wisner of Westminster, Md.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 1 p.m. at McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, McConnellsburg. Pastor John Godissart officiated. Interment was at Meadow Branch Cemetery, Westminster, Md.
Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, was in charge of arrangements.
Masonic services were held on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
