Dog Leads Friend To Body Of Pa. Man Who Drowned
ETNA, Pa. (AP) – Authorities say a man fell into a creek near Pittsburgh and drowned, and his dog led his girlfriend to his body.
Allegheny County homicide detectives say 61-yearold Ralph Shields of Etna took walks twice a day Pine creek with his dog, Primo. He didn’t return from a walk Wednesday evening, so his girlfriend, Tracey Eshenbaugh, went looking for him Thursday and found the dog sitting near the creek. She then saw Shields’ body.
Police believe Shields likely slipped and fell into the water. They don’t suspect foul play.
An autopsy is planned.
