At a recent meeting of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union of Fulton County, the members, without a dissenting vote, adopted a resolution denouncing the associate judges of the county courts because “a certain offender convicted on charges of possessing alcoholic liquor and maintaining a public nuisance, respectively, thus deserving severe punishment, was sentenced by our associate judges to but three months in the county jail and a fine of five hundred dollars.” The same resolution commended Judge McPherson for refusing to be a part to “what we believe was an insufficient sentence for great wrong-doing and distinct violation of our laws.” The resolution was signed by Mrs. J.B. Meloy, president, and Mrs. H. C. Mc- Clain, secrtary.
