Louise D. Wilson
Louise D. Wilson, 77, Mount Union, died at 6:10 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon.
Born April 20, 1933, in Luck, La., she was a daughter of the late William Luther and Letha Ruth (Brown) Dick. She was united in marriage to Lawrence E. “Jiggs” Wilson April 18, 1952, in Winnfield, La. He preceded her in death March 12, 2002.
She is survived by three children: Ricky E. Wilson and Amy Diane Gilbert and husband Kenny, all of Mount Union, and Randall K. Wilson and wife Victoria, Waterfall; a grandson, James R. Williams, and wife Tara, Lorraine, Ohio, who was reared in the Wilson home; six additional grandchildren: Marquee Himes, Nicole Simparosa, Kathryn Wilson, Damyan Wilson, Alexandria and Bridgette Ritchey; and eight great-grandchildren: Simone, Selina, Sasha, Savannah, Liam, Kendra, Alexis and James; four siblings: Harold Dick, Clinton, Ark.; Patsy Ruth James and Carl Dick, both of Atlanta, La.; and Jerry Dick, Birmingham, Ala.
She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Duane Wilson; and five siblings: Charles Dick, Clifford Dick, Bronis Habarda, W.L. Dick and Billie Catherine “Honey” Dick.
She was an active member of the Allenport United Methodist Church, where she taught the children’s Sunday school class.
She was a 1953 graduate of Dodson High School, Dodson, La.
She retired form L.Greif Brothers Manufacturing, having worked there from 1953-1973, when it closed. She loved flowers, gardening, baking, cooking and canning. She also adored her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. Pastor Mike Dubbs officiated. Burial was made in Mount Union Cemetery.
