Fay B. Wilt

Fay B. Wilt, 89, Everett, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Pennknoll Village, Everett, with her family at her side.

She was born January 22, 1922, in Rays Cove¸ Breezewood, a daughter of the late George W. and Ella Mae (Metz) Foor.

On August 16, 1940, in Berryville, Va., she married J. Paul Wilt, her husband of 70 years, who survives along with their son, Gary, and wife Lyndall (Golden) Wilt, of Everett; four grandchildren: Paula and husband Nathan Barkman, of Breezewod; Staci and husband David Morral , of Clearville; Michael and wife Michelle (Powell) Wilt, of Everett; Travis and wife Cathy (Anderson) Wilt, of Mercersburg; 12 greatgrandchildren: Ashley (Barkman) and husband Stephen McCahan; Richelle (Barkman) and husband Daniel Weiger; Morgan Barkman and fiancee Christopher Mc- Cahan; Jenna (Morral) and husband Justin Risbon; Chelsea, Kenzi and Bailey Morral; Corey and Collin Wilt; Jacob Bryce, Macen and Carter Wilt; and five great-great-grandchildren: Ella and Lydia Faye McCahan and Maddox, Harlow, and Ryker Risbon.

She was preceded in death by brothers Lawson Foor, Elza Foor and Percy Foor, and sisters Emma Patterson and Mary Davis. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Breezewoood. She was a member of Lutheran Church Women, a charter member of Breezewood Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, and the Cleo Rebecca Lodge.

She was a lifelong homemaker on the family dairy farm whose greatest joy was her family. Her door was always open and her cookie jar and iced tea pitcher were always full. She took great pleasure in cooking and baking, and her family greatly enjoyed her black raspberry jelly, Christmas “garbage,” and Thanksgiving stuffing. She was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Akers Funeral Home. Pastor Curtis Bryant officiated. Burial was at Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Breezewood.
