Penna. Man Charged For Giving Gun To Suicidal Man
ORWIGSBURG, Pa. (AP) – A northeastern Pennsylvania man is facing charges for allegedly providing a friend with a gun he used to kill himself.
Police say 26-year- old David Fitting gave a 9mm handgun to 27-year-old Andrew Mullins shortly before Mullins’ November suicide. Schuylkill Haven police say Mullins told Fitting and another person his life had “no meaning’’ before Fitting handed him the gun during an evening of drinking.
Mullins was pronounced dead a few hours after being found with a gunshot wound to the head.
The Pottsville Republican and Herald reports Fitting was released on $10,000 unsecured bail on charges of aiding a suicide and reckless endangerment. He and his attorney declined comment following the hearing before Schuylkill County Magisterial District Judge James Ferrier.
