Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

So we lost an hour Sunday morning and won’t get it back until next fall.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Charles Sipes, who was killed in an auto accident last Tuesday morning while on his mail route.

Peter and Judy Rusack plan on leaving for their new home in Kansas the first of April. We are going to miss these folks, but we wish them the best of luck in their new location.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a shooting match on Saturday, March 19, beginning at 1 p.m. Shells will be furnished and prizes will be awarded. Your support is appreciated.

The fire company will sponsor an open stage on March 26 at 6 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and share talent or just enjoy the talent of others.

Happy birthday wishes to Peter Rusal, March 13; Rhonda Weller, March 15; Irene Sprowl, March 16; Thelma Bratton, March 19; Linda Englert, March 23; and Martha Berkstresser, March 24.

Hustontown Fire Co. banquet for members and guests will be held on Saturday, April 2, at 6 p.m.

Household Hint: Water plants. An easy way to water hanging plants without drippy mess. Put a few ice cubes around the edge of the pot, not touching the plant. They will provide a slow watering the soil can absorb. Saves drippy mess if you have hanging plants.
