Mayor Getting Harassing Notes
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – Police are setting up new security measures after they say Harrisburg’s mayor received threatening letters urging her to step down.
Harrisburg police Chief Pierre Ritter says officers will be monitoring visitors to city hall because Mayor Linda Thompson has received letters the chief calls “harassing.’’
A couple hundred people showed up for a rally outside city hall last month calling for her resignation. Thompson appeared at her window and blew kisses to the crowd before mouthing “I’m staying.’’
WGAL-TV reports another anti-Thompson rally is scheduled for Saturday.
