FR Students Of The Month
Keith Englert, a freshman at Forbes Road High School, has been named Student of the Month for March by the high school faculty. Students are selected by their teachers based on attendance, grades, citizenship and being a positive leader in the classroom.
Keith is actively involved in the Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. as a junior firefighter. He is also a member of the Fulton Pistol and Rifle Club, where he enjoys shooting guns in competition. Keith is enrolled in the academic curriculum and says that Math is his favorite subject. His teacher, Mr. Horton, says, “Keith displays all the qualities of a great student. He is attentive in class, asks good questions and always completes his work in a timely manner. One of his most outstanding qualities is his willingness to help others. This is reflected, not only by his volunteerism outside of school, but in class when he helps his classmates.”
Keith’s parents are Kenny and Christine Englert and he has a younger brother, Kyle. In his spare time, he enjoys bow and rifle hunting and fishing for trout and walleye. His plans for the future are either plumbing and heating or excavating.
Benjamin Stoey, a senior at Forbes Road High School, has been named senior high Student of the Month for March by the high school faculty.
Ben is enrolled in the academic curriculum and says that tech ed is his favorite class. His teacher, Mr. Bosley, says, “Ben has been an excellent student for me. He strives for success, and his strong work ethic and sense of responsibility indicate a future with limitless potential.”
Ben’s parents are Richard and Mary Stoey, and he has four siblings. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and fishing, and he also enjoys restoring old cars. Ben has joined the Air Force and is leaving in August for basic training.
When a student is named Student of the Month by the faculty, it is in recognition of a promising young person who shows strength and character in his daily school life. Keith and Ben have impressed their teachers as being a good example of these students.
