Mother Nature sort of gave us a really rainy ugly weekend but unfortunately it turned to snow. A lot of folks still were able to attend worship services at Knobsville.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a shooting match on Saturday, March 12, at 1 p.m. Shells will be furnished and prizes awarded.

Our volunteer firefighters and ambulance personnel appreciate any and all sup- port that is given to them. We appreciate their service.

Forbes Road High School Drama Club will present the musical “Footloose” March 17, 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. at the high school auditorium. You may purchase tickets at the door or in advance by calling 814-685-3866, Ext. 208. All tickets are $6. A silent auction and spaghetti dinner will be held all three evenings. A lot of hard work and dedication goes into putting on this musical by everyone involved, so it promises to be a crowd-pleaser.

The May primary election is not far away so if you are eligible to vote and not registered now is a good time to go register. This year is election of local offices, so go out and vote.

Lenten Bible study each Thursday evening at 7 p.m. The theme is “The Garden of Gethsemene” for this week. Soup and sandwiches will be at 6 p.m. Come out and enjoy the study at Knobsville United Methodist Church.

Remember to turn clocks up one hour on Saturday night.

Olivia Mills is still competing in the Rising Star talent show at Heartland Hall on Sundays. Come out and support Olivia and cast your vote.

Household Hint: If you use a canvas grocery bag for groceries, etc., place a thin piece of thin plywood to fit snugly in the bottom of the bag. Items will sit better in the bottom, and the bag will sit up better when you get home while you unpack it.
