Snowball Thrown, Charges Filed

A McConnellsburg man was lodged in the Franklin County Prison on Tuesday, February 22, in lieu of $60,000 bail after he threw a snowball at a vehicle driven by his ex-girlfriend.

Derek James Peck was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne on propulsion of missiles into an occupied vehicle as well as recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and harassment as a result of an incident near the McConnellsburg Sheetz.

State police reported Peck threw a ball of ice and snow at the windshield of the vehicle driven by a 34- year- old McConnellsburg woman. The driver swerved abruptly when her 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier was struck along Lincoln Way East at 1 p.m. Passengers in the vehicle were a 16-yearold male and a 39-year-old male, both from Mc- Connellsburg.

Peck is also being charged by state police for taking prescription medication from the victim in this incident. He was arraigned on the additional charges as well.
