Leese To Run For County Seat

Ricky Leese Ricky Leese Ricky A. Leese of Needmore announces his candidacy for the nomination of county commissioner on the Republican Party ticket.

Leese is currently self-employed as a farmer in Belfast Township. He has been married for 39 years to Marjory, a teacher in the Southern Fulton School District. They have three children and four grandchildren. He is a lifelong member of Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren.

Leese is a graduate of Southern Fulton High School and earned a B.S. in animal sciences at Penn State University. After graduation, he worked in dairy science research labs at both Penn State and Michigan State universities. He is a longtime member of Fulton County Farm Bureau, currently serving on the board of directors and the State Fruit and Vegetables Commodities Board. Since 1979, he is a member of Fulton County Planning Commission. He is also on the Potomac Region State Water Board.

Leese has served Fulton County for 12 years in the office of county auditor. His experience led him to be elected as president of the State Auditor’s Association.

As a conservative farmer, he “believes that strong business principles need to be applied at the county level.”
