Nancy and Tommy Shearer and Robin “Buck” and Zeb Fix are attending the Philadelphia Phillies spring training camp in Florida this week.

Ron “Buck” and Carol Richards celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, February 27, with a card shower open house at their home in Needmore.

McConnellsburg Methodist Church Friendship Class made its second batch of soup for this year and cherry pies last Friday.

Public Opinion weekly honor roll student-athletes were Lacey Beatty and J.C. Munson, Southern Fulton, both for basketball.

Sympathy goes out to the families of Mary Mellott and Joan Knepper, who passed away last week.

Pat and Glenda Shafer hosted a dinner last Wednesday night at the New Fort Restaurant for family members and friends who have in some way given a hand in their flower business since they purchased it. Around 30 were in attendance to enjoy a delicious meal.

Folks who were in Fulton County Medical Center and now at home recuperating are Bonnie Miller, Reed and Mary Richards, and Tim Gress.

A memorial service was held last Thursday at Fulton County Medical Center for Tina Souders, a former employee who lost her life recently. The service was held in the Medical Center chapel.

Paul Johnston recently celebrated his 50th birthday with family and friends at Great Cove Golf Clubhouse.

Jim Worthing, international recording artist, led worship services with gospel music on Sunday in the Mc- Connellsburg Methodist Church. Worthing is celebrating his 30th year of professional singing. He sang with the Re-Creation and The Cumberland Valley Boys. He is a native of Altoona.

John and Michelle Rasp Foor recently celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary. They were married on Valentine’s Day.
