Tractor-Trailer Driver Dies Before Crash
The Fulton County Coroner’s Office reported a tractor trailer driver from Louisville, Ky., died of natural causes prior to an accident between the Amaranth and Warfordsburg exits of Interstate 70.
Coroner Berley Souders told the “News” an autopsy performed at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown Monday revealed 46-year- old Phillip A. Thompson died of a heart attack related to diabetes.
Thompson was found by local state police, who were alerted to a tractortrailer sitting in a field approximately 75 yards off the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 on Saturday, February 19, by a passing motorist. Thompson was pronounced dead by Souders at 3 a.m.
