Ann S. Grove
Anna Suella “Sue” Grove, 87, Berkeley Springs, died Monday, February 21, 2011, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
Born February 28, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George Atlanta and Ida Pearl Breakall Caldwell.
She was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs.
She attended Hancock High School. She had been a cook for most of her working career. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of United Methodist women.
She is survived by two daughters: Ronnie Lee Grove, Berkeley Springs, and Rev. Jennifer Lynn Bryan, Lenexa, Kan.; one son, Charles G. Grove Jr., Terra Alta, W.Va.; three sisters: Edith Elizabeth Gloyd, Maricopa, Ariz.; Ruth Pearl Brush, Eugene, Ore., and Frances Catherine Younker, Hancock; one brother, Gene Cavender, Buck Valley, Pa.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gilbert Grove, in 2006; a stepmother, Mildred Cavender Caldwell; two sisters: Edna Marian Hovermale and Mary Agnes Clem; and three brothers: Lee Edward Caldwell Jr., George A. “Mick” Caldwell and Newton Hamilton Caldwell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 24, at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union St., Berkeley Springs. Rev. Dirk Hughes officiated. Burial was made in Friendship Cemetery.
