During training soldiers are instructed in physical fitness. They receive instruction and practice in basic skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, as well as bayonet training, combat skills, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, combat field tactics and military courtesy. Pfc. Hollins-head scored in the top five percent of his battalion of 1,150 soldiers. He received the company’s outstanding Soldier Award.
He is the son of Eric and Anne Marie Hollinshead of Harrisonville and the grandson of Jerry and Mary Ann Books of Harrisonville and Sherwin and Betty Hollinshead of McConnellsburg. He will graduate from Mc- Connellsburg High School June 2011. At that time, he will leave for six months advance training at Fort Hvachvca, Ariz. After com- pleting his advance training, he plans to return home and start college in January 2012.
