Clarence “Bushy” and Nancy Kerlin observed their 51st wedding anniversary on February 10.

Madeline “Mattie” Garland was surprised on Sunday by her children with an 80th birthday party held at Celebrations Unlimited.

Public Opinion weekly honor roll basketball student athletes were Tyler Green, McConnellsburg; Tanner Henry and Corri Parsons, Forbes Road; and Ryan Harper and Nick Smartt, Southern Fulton.

Temperatures reached near 50 for a few days this week. Spring might be around the corner.

Public Opinion female athlete of the week was Lacey Beatty of Southern Fulton, who plays guard for the basketball team. She also runs track and crosscountry and is the daughter of Todd and Billie Jo Beatty.

Bessie Rasp was surprised by her family recently with an 80th birthday party that was held in the Assembly of God fellowship hall with 70 family members and friends attending. Bessie has four children, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.

Sympathy goes out to families of Miriam Keebaugh and Dorothy Mellott Mc- Quade. Both women passed away last week.
