McConnellsburg 41, Cumberland Valley Christian 30

McConnellsburg Lady Spartan Nikki Fleming posted a double-double Monday evening and led her teammates to a 41-30 victory over Cumberland Valley Christian. Fleming finished the non-league match with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and teammate Becca Hahn netted 10 points. Santana Ramsey wrapped up the game with six points.

Southern Fulton 56,

Shanksville 33

Lacey Beatty and Chelsie Eader reached double digits Saturday evening when the Southern Fulton Lady Indians walked away with a 56-33 win over Shanksville. Beatty scored 17 points, five assists and three steals, while Eader had 15 points. Macey Hollenshead contributed eight points, while Morgan Mills led the defense with 13 rebounds.

Northern Bedford 49,

Forbes Road 27

The Forbes Road Lady Cardinals had a slow night from the floor last Monday and ended their Sideling Hill League match in a big 49-27 loss to the Northern Bedford Panthers. Kaili Hockensmith led with 11 points and two blocked shots for the Cardinals, who also got five points and 11 rebounds from Stephanie Worthing.

Southern Fulton 48,

Fannett-Metal 29

Southern Fulton easily outscored Fannett-Metal in the final period last Thursday for a decisive 48-29 Sideling Hill League win over the Lady Tigers. With 21 points and five rebounds, Lacey Beatty led the Indians. Teammate Macey Hollenshead hit double digits with 13 points, five steals and five assists. Morgan Mills was the next highest scorer with five points.

Forbes Road 45,

McConnellsburg 41

Forbes Road made a clean sweep of its county rivals, the McConnellsburg Lady Spartans, last Thursday when the Cardinals eked out a four-point league win. Corri Parsons tallied 15 points for the Cardinals, and Sammie Clippinger, Shayla Carmack and Kaili Hockensmith all followed with eight. Becca Hahn netted 17 points for McConnellsburg, while teammates Nikki Fleming and Rikki Green had seven and six points, respectively.

Tussey Mountain 63,

Forbes Road 50

Tussey Mountain’s offense took charge in the moments prior to the halftime break Monday night with the Titans moving on for a 63-50 Sideling Hill League win over Forbes Road. Cardinal Tanner Henry rallied for 16 points, 18 rebounds and 11 blocked shots. Meanwhile, Chris Everts and Tristan Gelvin totalled 10 and nine points, respectively. Gelvin also made three steals and dished out three assists.

Southern Fulton 78,

Chestnut Ridge 35

Even though they were shorthanded Monday night, a strong offensive effort by Ryan Harper and Nick Smartt pushed the Southern Fulton Indians over Chestnut Ridge by a score of 78-35. Smartt scored a career high 27 points, and Harper followed very closely with 25 points and five rebounds. Seth Hall ended the Sideling Hill League match with eight points and nine assists.

McConnellsburg 59,

Cumberland Valley 43

McConnellsburg grabbed its second victory of the 2010- 11 season Monday evening with a 16-point win over Cumberland Valley Christian. Billy Fleming led the Spartans’ scoring with 15 points, and Tyler Green dished out six assists, grabbed eight rebounds and scored nine points. Jesse Swope and and Tyler Branche also netted nine points each.

Forbes Road 61,

McConnellsburg 55

It was an up and down battle between rivals the Forbes Road Cardinals and the McConnellsburg Spartans Friday night, but with two members of the Cardinals team scoring more than 20 points it was Forbes Road that prevailed by a mere six points. During the Sideling Hill League win, Chris Everts tallied 24 points and 17 rebounds, while teammate Tanner Henry chipped in 21 points, 20 rebounds and four blocked shots. Tristan Gelvin was the next highest scorer with six points and four assists. Evan Appleby led the Spartans scoring effort with 19 points, and Billy Fleming followed with 11 points.

Southern Fulton 72,

Fannett-Metal 29

Three members of the Southern Fulton Indians squad reached double figures Friday night when the Indians faced off for a 72- 29 trouncing of the Fannett- Metal Tigers. Ryan Harper totalled 15 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, and Seth Hall netted 13 points. Damon Gordon and and Nick Smartt both contributed 11 points.

Tussey Mountain 53,

Southern Fulton 44

Southern Fulton hit double digits during two periods Saturday evening, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Tussey Mountain, who clinched the Sideling Hill League game 53-44. With 14 points, Ryan Harper led the Indians scoring effort. Teammate Damon Gordon followed closely with 12 points, while Nathan Keebaugh was the next highest scorer with four points.

Hyndman 54,

McConnellsburg 46

The McConnellsburg Spartan season record fell to 1-16 Saturday evening when the Hyndman Hornets rolled to a 54- 46 Sideling Hill League win. Evan Appleby netted a career- high 23 points and dished out three assists. Billy Fleming added 10 points, and Tony White chipped in eight points and three steals.
