Violet Victoria Fox
Violet Victoria Fox, 71, Hedgesville, W.Va, died on Monday, February 7, 2011 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born March 28, 1939 in Romney, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Walter Hillary and Ada Victoria Sirk Smith.
She was a member of the Independent Church of God in Hedgesville, W.Va. She attended public schools in Romney and also the Pleasant View School in Morgan County. She had worked with Blue Goose and Fairview orchards and had been a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed hunting, crafts and was devoted to her grandchildren.
Mrs. Fox is survived by her husband of 56 years, Asher Elwood Fox, at home, two sons, Michael Elwood “Wink” Fox, Hancock, and Rocky Allen Fox, Berkeley Springs, two daughters, Ronda Lee Ward, Hancock, and Deanna Lynn “Dee Dee” Crone, Berkeley Springs, six grandchildren, Michael Scott Fox, Marco Shawn Ward and Jason Kelly Ward all of Hancock, Autumn Lynn Fox, Warfordsburg, Michael Shane Crone and Troy Lyn Crone, both of Berkeley Springs, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Crystal Lynn Fox, four sisters, Lila Corbin, Waalbana Arnold, Goldie Zirk and Leoda Combs, four brothers, Mervin Smith, Hillary Smith, Clifton Smith and Cecil Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Independent Church of God, 8703 Martinsburg Road, Hedgesville, W.Va, with Pastors Lynnie and Ada Ambrose, Pastor Ron Payne and Pastor Steve Dawson officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday at the the Independent Church of God . Arrangements are being handled by the Helsley- Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs, W.Va
