Thelma L. McFadden, 88, Hancock, died peacefully Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Julia Manor, Hagerstown.

Born June 22, 1922, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Oscar J. and Nannie Weller and the widow of Kenneth Earl McFadde,n who died June 10, 1989.

She was employed at various places throughout her life. She worked at Jacob Brothers for many years until it closed. She enjoyed working as a waitress at the Skater Bowl, the National Restaurant and the Bridge Restaurant. She enjoyed these jobs because she enjoyed being around people.

She had a special love for animals. She took many stray animals into her home over the years.

She attended Stone Church as a child. In her adult years she attended Orchard Ridge First Church of God.

She is survived by two sons: Kenneth McFadden and wife Lillian, Sherman McFadden and wife Sandra, both of Hancock; one daughter, Jeannie (McFadden) Divelbliss, and husband Danny, Georgia; eight grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; and a greatgreat grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, February 6, at 1 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Rev. Jeff Hawbaker officiated. Burial was made in Stone Church Cemetery, Mercersburg.
