Fern F. Pollock
Fern Frank Pollock, 87, Hustontown, Pa., died Sunday, February 6, 2011, at his home in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County.
Born November 21, 1923, in Newton Hamilton, Mifflin County, he was the son of the late Oscar F. and Blanche B. (Hamilton) Pollock. He was married to Madge Elizabeth Knepp on July 17, 1943. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2002.
He is survived by three sons and four daughters: Joseph Pollock, Suzanne Everts and William Pollock, all of Hustontown; Sandra Ross, Mapleton Depot, Pa.; Patsy Sipes, Harrisonville; Jo Ann Pollock, Aliquippa, Pa.; and Timothy Pollock, Homestead, Fla.; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; four sisters and three brothers: Thelma Pyle, Bertha Renninger, Evelyn Glover and Delores Booher, all of Mount Union; Raymond Pollock, Chambersburg; Jack Pollock, Mapleton Depot; and Oscar Pollock, Kissimmee, Fla.
He was preceded in death by two daughters: Dorothy Nearhood and Margaret Pollock; two brothers: Richard and Robert Pollock, and one sister, Gladys Gaisor.
He had worked at Harbison Walker Refractories, Mount Union, until 1963 and then engaged in farming until 1975.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February, 9, 2011, at M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Rev. Kenneth Cornelius officiated. Interment was made in Cromwell Church Cemetery, Hustontown, Pa.
