Skills USA Students Compete
The Fulton County chapter of Skills USA brought home six medals from District 7 competition. Fulton County Area Vocational- Technical students competed at CPI, Altoona and Huntingdon recently with impressive results. Allied Health senior Katherin Berkstresser, of Forbes Road, earned a first place in the Basic Health Care event, and will compete at state competition in April.
Drafting students Clayton Garlock, a senior from McConnellsburg High School, and Sarah Null, a junior from Southern Fulton High School, earned thirdplace medals in Architectural Drafting and Technical Drafting, respectively. Rachel Kendall, also a drafting student and a senior from McConnellsburg, earned a third-place medal in Related Technical Math. Drafting is taught by Todd Wolford.
A Forbes Road senior in the Allied Health program, Kasey Rose, earned a second place medal in the Action Skills area where she demonstrated range of motion on upper extremity. The Allied Health teacher is Mrs. Brandi Mellott.
Colby Shaffer, a junior from Forbes Road in the carpentry department, placed second in the carpentry competition. His teacher is Steve Sellers.
