A truck driver from Texas was killed Monday, February 4, when his rig ran out of control down Pa.
Route 913 on Robertsdale Mountain in Wells Township, about one-half mile north of New Grenada, according to state police from the McConnellsburg station. Police were not releasing the name of the deceased driver Tuesday pending notification of next of kin. Police did say that the Texas truck and Albert Dixon, 48, of Mount Holly, N.J., whose rig was following the other rig, both were hauling coal loads from the Dash Coal Co. in Wood for RSM Truck of New Jersey. The spilled diesel fuel and coal ignited a small blaze at the wreckage site which was put out by personnel from Hustontown Fire Co.
Temperatures in the high 60s are being recorded this week, promising spring is on its way.
