We had a little winter weather with our first snowstorm this past weekend.

Knobsville United Meth-odist Church will have a community supper on Saturday, February 12, at 4 p.m.

It was good to see a nice attendance at Knobsville United Methodist Church on Sunday.

We send speedy recovery wishes to Linda Englert, who is recuperating from having some leg surgery.

Hustontown Fire Co. will have a homemade soup and bread sale Saturday, February 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eat in or take out. Bread is $2.25 and soup is $1.75 a bowl or $3.50 a quart. To reserve, call Fran Hoover at 987-3210 or Elner DeShong at 987- 3108. Vegetable, ham and bean, turkey noodle or plain with corn soup will be available and also chili.

Forbes Road boys and girls basketball teams will be finishing up their regular season next week with playoffs to begin afterwards.

Hustontown Fire Co. will also sponsor a shooting match Saturday, February 12, at 1 p.m. Shells will be furnished. The firemen appreciate everyone’s support.

The fire company will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, February 26, at 6 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m. We invite everyone to come out and share their talent or just come and enjoy the talent of others. We hope to see you there for an enjoyable evening.

Household Hint: Mineral deposits frequently clog shower heads.To remedy this problem unscrew the head, take the pieces apart and soak them in a bowl of vinegar, brush out any stubborn sediment. Reassemble the shower head.
