Fannett-Metal 68,

McConnellsburg 50

The McConnellsburg Spartans dropped to a dismal 1-14 Friday night after Fannett-Metal walked away with an 18-point Sideling Hill League victory. Evan Appleby and Nathan Swope led the Spartan team with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Teammates Tony White and Billy Fleming followed with nine and seven points.

Southern Fulton 53,

Forbes Road 45

Both the Forbes Road Cardinals and the Southern Fulton Indians had two players reach double figures Friday night, but it was the Indians who narrowly prevailed by eight points for the Sideling Hill League win. For the Indians, Ryan Harper and Seth Hall dominated the offense with 17 and 15 points, respectively. Hall also dished out five assists. Meanwhile, Tanner Henry netted 20 points and 11 rebounds for Forbes Road, Tristan Gelvin chipped in 12 points, and Chris Everts was the next highest scorer with nine points.

Southern Fulton 51

Tussey Mountain 54

Southern Fulton girls ended a five-game winning streak on Monday losing to the Titans of Tussey Mountain 54-51. Leading the Indians were Lacey Beatty and Chelsie Eader with 14 each and Macey Hollenshead added 13 points.

McConnellsburg 42

Hyndman 38

McConnellsburg Lady Spartans were 19-22 at the foul for a 42-38 win Monday over Hyndman. Nikki Fleming was 11 for 14 at the free throw line for the Spartans and finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Kylie Zittle chipped in 7 points/

Fannett-Metal 40,

McConnellsburg 37

Fannett-Metal posted some big numbers in the final period last Thursday evening to creep ahead of the McConnellsburg Spartans by the score of 40-37. Libby Strayer hit double figures for the Lady Spartans with 10 points, and Valerie Green had nine points and 10 rebounds. Nikki Fleming followed with seven points, four steals and 12 rebounds during the Sideling Hill League game.

Southern Fulton 50,

Forbes Road 33

The Forbes Road Cardinals were easily outscored in two periods last Thursday night and posted a 50-33 loss to the Southern Fulton Lady Indians. The Indians upped their season record to 11-2 with the Sideling Hill League victory. Lacey Beatty continued her strong offensive effort with 19 points for the Indians, who also received a career-high 18 points from teammate Macey Hollenshead. Hollenshead also chipped in three steals, while Chelsie Eader tallied eight points, four assists and 11 rebounds. The Cardinals were led by Kaili Hockensmith with nine points, two blocked shots and four steals. Jessica Gearhart also netted nine points and added 11 rebounds.

Southern Fulton 65,

Hyndman 13

Hyndman only scored 13 points last Tuesday evening against the Southern Fulton Indians, who easily secured the non-league game by the final score of 65-13. Lacey Beatty poured in 18 points, and teammate Morgan Mills reached double digits with 12 points. Chelsie Eader, Taylor Leasure and Courtney Strait all contributed six points.

Chestnut Ridge 48,

McConnellsburg 24

McConnellsburg fell behind by 10 points early on and never quite made up the deficit last Tuesday during a crushing 48-24 Sideling Hill League loss to Chestnut Ridge. Libby Strayer and Valerie Green tallied seven and five points, respectively, to lead the Lady Spartans. Everett 57, Forbes Road 30

After jumping out to a 10- point lead, the Everett Warriors cruised to a 57-30 Sideling Hill League win over the Forbes Road Lady Cardinals last Tuesday. Kaili Hockensmith netted 12 points during the loss, and Shayla Carmack was the next highest scorer with nine.
