Police Respond To Vehicle Fire

State police in McConnellsburg were called to a vehicle fire along the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 on Tuesday, January 25.

According to reports, a motorist contacted troopers at 9 a.m. to report a Quality Services Moving Co. had smoke rolling out the rear trailer wheel. Police in turn followed the vehicle driven by Darrell A. Flynn, 41, of Beckley, W.Va., and stopped it at mile marker 158 located in Brush Creek Township where flames were spotted. Attempts to extinguish the fire were unsuccessful.

State police were aided by PennDOT, Fischer’s Towing and Hancock and Needmore fire companies, which helped clean up the roadway and unload the trailer’s contents.
