Alda Ruth Dubbs

Alda Ruth Dubbs, 75, Hustontown, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Fulton County Medical Center.

Born June 3, 1935, in Hustontown, she was the daughter of the late Percy L. and Cecil (Abbott) Fetters of Hustontown.

She was a beautician and a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed sewing and crafts.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Big Cove Tannery. She was an active auxiliary member of the American Legion and the VFW of McConnellsburg and the Eagles of Harrisonville. She graduated from the Hustontown High School in 1954.

She is survived by three sons: Roger B. Richards and wife Deborah and Rodney D. Richards and Susie of Mc- Connellsburg and Randy L. Richards and wife Belinda of Harrisonville; six grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren; the following brother and sisters: Meril A. Fetters, Betty A. Cutchall and Joyce C. Mellott all of McConnellsburg; and Faye I. Brant of Harrisonville and Jeanette L. Fisher of Ranson, W.Va. She is also survived by her friend and companion, Wendell P. Strait.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Cloe Fetters, and a brother, Denver L. Fetters.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Ruth’s memory to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Big Cove Tannery, c/o Karen Shives, 364 Ravensburg, Road, McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
