Buterbaugh Announces Candidacy


Richard Buterbaugh Richard Buterbaugh Richard “Rick” Buterbaugh would like to announce his candidacy for county commissioner for the Republican Party.

Rick resides in the borough of McConnellsburg with his wife Debbie (Richards) and two children Chris and Jenny.

Rick is a lifelong resident of Fulton County and a graduate of McConnellsburg High School. He is employed by Mercersburg Academy as a campus carpenter.

He has served as borough councilman since 1995, is a member of McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, Mt. Zion Lodge 774, Scottish Rites Consistory of the Valley of Harrisburg and a lifetime member of both the McConnellsburg and Needmore Volunteer fire companies. He currently serves as the emergency management coordinator for the borough and as the treasurer of the Fulton County Parks and Recreation Commission.

His many years of experience in construction and building maintenance field will serve as a guide to the completion and the correct management of current and future projects of the county.

Rick states, “Many difficult and fiscal-related decisions have had to be made over the years in the borough. Not all decisions were popular but were necessary for the fiscal stability of the town. I feel that this management is needed in the county system also. All expenditures need to be closely evaluated before proceeding. Your support and encouragement will be greatly appreciated.”
