Ceremonies to celebrate the return of the hostages will be held at the courthouse on Friday at noon and a large crowd from throughout the county is expected. Other communities across the nation have chosen Thursday as the day for celebration.

A fire on Wednesday, January 21, gutted all but one wing of the John L. Grove Medical Center in Greencatle. The Center is named for John L. Grove, president of JLG Industries, who serves on its board and who was instrumental in its establishment a few years ago.

McConnellsburg physician James E. Witt is the subject of a chapter in a new book, “A Love Of The Land,” recently published by Farm Journal Books. The book is about the time period when Witt directed the Greenwood Medical Center at Millerstown in Perry County.
