Shooting Matches Hustontown Fire Co. will hold shooting matches February 12, 19 and 26 at the firehall. Shells will be furnished and prizes awarded.

Open Stage Hustontown Fire Co. will hold an open stage February 26 at 6 p.m. at the firehall. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. and admission is free.

Benefit Sale Cove Valley Youth Camp will hold a benefit sale February 25 (snowdate February 26) at 5:30 p.m. at Chambersburg Mennonite Church, 1800 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. To be sold are tickets to the U.S. Open and tickets to Sight and Sounds production of “Joseph,” P. Buckley Moss print, hand-carved walking cane and many more items, new and used.

Alumni Gym Open The alumni community gym in Mc- Connellsburg will be open from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for anyone who would like to get some exercise, walk or run. This is a free activity and open to all ages. If the Central Fulton School District is closed because of the weather, the gym will not be open. Any questions, please call Kathy J. Open Mic Night Open mic night (weather permitting) will be held at Warfordsburg Senior Center, 209 Long Hollow Road, Warfordsburg, February 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. All are welcome. Food and drink will be available. Donation is $1. More information may be obtained by calling 717-294-6020.

Shooting Stars Registration Shooting Stars registration will be held at Needmore Bible Church fellowship hall on the following Mondays from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., February 7, 14, 21, and 28. Banner carriers are needed, any age. Registration is for majorettes ages 3-23. Practice will start for all the registered members on Monday, March 7. Free Movie Fulton County Library will hold a free movie Friday, February 4, at 6:10 p.m., in the library’s community room. Call the library at 717-485-5327 to find out what’s playing.

CSL Travel Softball Teams Registrations will be held for girls, ages 9-14, to fill the BiValley travel 12U and 14U softball teams that participate in Chambersburg Suburban League. Little League Registration Fulton County Little League will hold registration for the 2011 season at the Chamber of Commerce office located in the Antietam Iron Works Building (old dog bone factory) in McConnellsburg. The dates for registration: February 4 - 5 to 7:00 p.m.; February 5 - 9 a.m. to noon. Boys and girls can register for T-Ball (5 – 6 yrs.), Farm League (7 – 8 yrs.), and Little League (9 – 12 yrs.). Registration fee is $25 per child. First year players in the league need to bring a copy of birth certificate. Do not need to live in the county to play in the Fulton County Little League. Sweetheart Ball The 27th annual Beta Sigma Phi Sweetheart Ball and auction will be held Saturday, February 12, at McConnellsburg American Legion. Salad bar will be served at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dancing will follow with music provided by D.J. Shane Imler of “Northeastern Entertainment.” Tickets are $35 per couple and $20 for singles and may be purchased from any sorority member or by calling 717-485- 5930 or 717-294-6091. This event will benefit two young pediatric cancer patients: Sean Williams and P.J. Stanley.

Lifeguard Course Anyone wishing to take the American Red Cross lifeguarding course at James Buchanan High School should contact Kathy J. Kendall by Saturday, February 5, at 485-0221 or 377-3643.

Hall Walking McConnellsburg SADD offers hall walking at McConnellsburg High School starting at 5:30 p.m., to 7:00 p.m. Hall walking in the high school will be every Tuesday and Thursday with the last day on Thursday, March 24. If the school closes because of the weather, hall walking will be cancelled. Park in the parking lot and not along the building. If you bring your children, please supervise them. Please sign in when you come and sign out before you leave. Jogging may only be done between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the outside lanes. Any questions, please call Kathy J.
