Robert D. Percy
Robert D. Percy, 86, of Berkeley Springs, W. Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, January 20, 2011, at his home while surrounded by his family.
Born July 28, 1924, in Alliance, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles Franklin and Mary Viola Miller Percy.
He retired in 1981 from Mack Truck in Hagerstown, Md., as a machinist.
He was a member of Victory Tabernacle, Hedgesville, W. Va.
He was known and loved by many and has touched many lives. He was a mighty man of God, who loved unconditionally, as his Heavenly Father loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, June Elaine Truax Percy; two daughters: Melody and husband Mike Ruppenthal of Smithsburg, Md.; Theresa and husband Ron Cole of Lexington, Ky.; four sons: James and wife Mildred Percy and Robert Boyle, both of Berkeley Springs, W. Va.; John and wife Deb Boyle of Hagerstown, Md.; Charles and wife Wanda Percy of Great Cacapon, W. Va.; two sisters: Goldie Little of New Philadelphia, Ohio; Lena Kelly of Alliance, Ohio; a brother, John Percy of Den- nison, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons: Robert F. Percy and Timothy D. Percy; three sisters: Sarah Jones, Mary Jones and Betty Ketler; two brothers: Charles Percy and James Percy.
Services were held Monday, January 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Victory Tabernacle, Hedgesville, W. Va., with Rev. Carl Clark officiating. Burial was made in May’s Chapel Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Victory Tabernacle, 34 Victory Lane, Hedgesville, WV 25427.
