Thelma R. Worthy

Thelma Ruth Worthy, 77, Orbisonia, died at 1:25 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia.

Born January 26, 1933, in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Ruth (Brant) Heisey. She married William Charles Worthy March 26, 1949. He preceded her in death October 10, 1975.

She is survived by her companion of more than 30 years, Clyde Stains, Orbisonia.

Also surviving are three daughters and a son: Diana L. Abrashoff and husband Donald, Prospect; Sharon L. Weinsteiger and husband Ronald, Mercersburg; Debra S. Kelley and husband Stephen, Shirleysburg; and Perry C. Worthy and companion Heather, McConnellsburg; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and three sisters: Dorothy Bailey, Jeannette Peter and Gerry Hayes.

She was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was retired from US Sports, Huntingdon.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 13, at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Interment was made in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg.
