It’s hard to believe January is half gone already, so spring will be here before we know it. I guess we will have more snow first.

A large crowd attended the memorial service in honor of John Gallaher on Sunday at Knobsville United Methodist Church. His son, Stephen Gallaher, was speaker.

For those folks who remember the Greggs, Eleanor Gregg is in a nursing home. Her address is Room 34, Zerbe Sister’s Nursing Home, 2499 Zerbe Road, Marvon, PA 17555.

Happy birthday wishes this week to Clifford Berkstresser, January 16; Lloyd Covert, January 22; January Bennett, January 22; Herbert Berkstresser, January 22; Barbara Torcasco, January 23; Pamela Plant, January 24; and Pam Karczewski, January 24.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor a shooting match on Saturday, January 22, beginning at 1 p.m. Shells will be furnished and prizes will be awarded. The volunteer firemen will appreciate your support.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, January 22, at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Come out and share your talent or just enjoy the talent of others. We hope to se you there.

Household Hint – glove storage. If you are at a yard sale and find an old antique keg that you buy cheap, and paint it or varnish it. Make a padded, covered lid. It makes an ideal place for gloves and scarves and is an attraction unit behind the door or in a corner for storage.
