County Residents Involved In Bedford County Crash

Two Warfordsburg area residents were recently involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Route 30 and Interstate 70 in East Providence Township, Bedford County.

William E. Stanley, 63, and passenger Mary E. Koontz, 67, both of Warfordsburg, were involved in the crash that occurred on Monday, January 3, at 12:15 p.m., state police in Bedford reported. Stanley was attempting to move forward when his 2000 Chevrolet Impala was struck by a 2000 Peterbilt 379 driven by Anthony S. Truman, 58, of Mount Horeb, Wis. The tractor-trailer was in the outside turning lane heading onto I-70 when the collision happened.

Stanley was not injured, but Koontz suffered minor injuries. Both individuals were wearing seat belts as was Truman, who escaped harm.
