McConnellsburg 58,

CV Christian 32

Led by Evan Appleby Mc- Connellsburg picked up its first win of the 2010-11 season Monday night with a 58- 32 non-league victory over Cumberland Valley Christian. Appleby scored a season high 21 points and also grabbed 12 rebounds for a double-double. Tony White was the next highest scorer for the Spartans with 13 points, while Jesse Swope finished with six points, four steals and six assists.

Fannett-Metal 48,

Forbes Road 42

Forbes Road came up short at the foul line and couldn’t shut down the Fannett Metal Tiger offense, which exploded for 24 points before the halftime break. In dropping the consolation game at the Fannett-Metal Christmas Tournament by the final score of 48-42, Chris Everts netted 14 points for the Cardinals. Everts and teammate Tanner Henry were named to the tourney all-star team. Henry closed out the game with 12 points.

Southern Fulton 60,

Clear Spring 46

Led by senior Ryan Harper, the Southern Fulton Indians basketball team rolled to a 60-46 win over Clear Spring, Md. Tuesday night and took home the Tri-State Shootout title. Harper finished out the game with 22 points, and J.C. Munson followed with 13 points. Seth Hall rounded out the match with 11 points and four assists.

Southern Huntingdon 59,

Forbes Road 57

After getting off to a slow start, the Forbes Road Cardinals brought their game in the final period of Wednesday evening’s opening round of the Fannett-Metal Christmas Tournament. In spite of their last minute comeback, the Cardinals managed to fall to the Southern Huntingdon Rockets by two points. Tanner Henry racked up 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Cardinals, who also got 18 points from Chris Everts. Tristan Gelvin and Brett Burger were the next highest scorers with seven points.
