Warfordsburg Woman Injured In I-70 Crash

A Warfordsburg area woman was one of two individuals to suffer injuries during an accident along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 last Thursday.

Maryland State Police reported 31-year- old Linda Kay Skidmore of Warfordsburg was changing lanes to allow traffic onto the interstate when she failed to notice a rapidly approaching vehicle behind her. Skidmore swerved and lost control of her 1992 Plymouth Colt Vista, which struck a 2002 Chevrolet truck driven by Alan Lee Bender, 24, of Frederick,

Md. Bender was travelling on the on ramp when the collision occurred at 3:15 p.m.

Following initial impact, Skidmore’s car reportedly crossed both eastbound lanes, entered the median and rolled onto its side.

Skidmore and her passenger, Charla Renee Huff, 44, of Hancock, Md., were transported to Meritus Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Meanwhile, Bender and his passenger, Anthony Anders, 47, also of Frederick, escaped harm.
