Stanley V. Seiders Sr.

Stanley V. Seiders, Sr., 68, Middletown, and formerly of McConnellsburg, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at home.

Born in Hancock, Md., on October 24, 1942, he was the son of the late Henry and Della Moats Seiders.

He worked in the construction field all his life as a bituminous pavement field technician, mostly for Kimbob Construction Co.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army as an Airborne combat engineer, serving most of his time in Germany. He loved muscle cars and donated money to several nonprofit organizations every year. As much as he loved cars, he especially cherished spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 41 years, Elena L. Bishop Seiders; two sons: Michael Bishop of Middletown, and Stanley Seiders Jr., husband of Cammie, of Harrisburg; two daughters: Gaby Shultz, wife of Dave, of Hedgeville, W.Va., and Dolly Crawford, wife of Eric, of Middletown; four brothers” Walter Seiders and Larry Seiders both of Middletown, and Michael Seiders of Mercersburg; four sisters: Mary Ellen Black of Fort Littleton; Helen Tober of Middletown; and Wilma Gordon and Norma Seiders, both of Mercersburg; and six grandchildren: Justin Bishop of Middletown; Cody Bishop of Elizabethtown; Hunter Crawford of Middletown; Nali Shultz of West Virginia, and Liv Seiders and Della Seiders both of Harrisburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Seiders Sr., on August 17, 1990.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 11:30 a.m., in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township. Friends are invited to the viewing at the funeral home Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service.
