Mary J. McKee
She was born in Locust Grove, Pa., on November 29, 1918, the daughter of the late Harry F. and Blanche (Smith) Hill. She was the widow of Clarence John McKee, whom she married on March 9, 1936, and he passed away on May 25, 2003.
She was a member of Jerusalem Christian Church, Warfordsburg, where she was a deaconess at the church for many years and also taught Sunday school for many years. She was a housewife who loved gardening, sewing and baking.
She is survived by sons: William C. McKee of Coatesville, Pa.; Franklin L. McKee of Hancock; Jerry L. McKee of Warfordsburg; John M. McKee of Warfordsburg; daughters Verla J. Hill of Needmore; W. Mae Schooley of Warfordsburg; Nita L. Davis of Port Republic, Md.; Imogene L. McIntyre of Mercersburg; Mary L. Houck of Hancock; 36 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sister Gladys Carson; brothers Harry E. and Elmer L. Hill; three grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
A Celebration of Life was held at Jerusalem Christian Church, Warfordsburg, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2010. Pastor Scott Gibbs, Pastor Delmas Bard and Pastor William Davis officiated.
Interment was at Jerusalem Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
