John “Pete” and Bessie Rasp celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on January 5.

Ken and Lunda Strait celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on January 3.

Pastor Frank and Jody Truax Heidler and family of Pennscreek visited with relatives in the area for a couple of days last week, including her parents, Guy and Wanda Truax.

Dorothy H. McQuade is now a patient in the longterm care unit of Fulton County Medical Center.

Public Opinion female Athlete of the Week was Nikki Fleming, a sophomore at McConnellsburg High School. She plays forward/ guard for the basketball team. She also plays soccer and is a member of the National Honor Society. Nikki is the daughter of Terry and Ginger Fleming.

Vincent and Liza Hughes celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on December 30. Their daughter, Megan, was 22 on January 1 and is serving with the United States Air Force in Sacramaneto, Calif. Their son, An- thony, is home to stay from Iraq.

Sympathy goes out to “Petie” Miller and family on the passing of her brother, Paul Shaffer of Kentucky, recently. Petie visited with her brother for a week before he died.

Congratulations to the Southern Fulton Indians basketball team in the Hancock Holiday Tournament on Thursday night, when they beat the Clear Spring team. Lacey Beatty was named MVP for the tournament.

Public Opinion male Athlete of the Week was Tanner Henry of Forbes Road’s basketball team. He plays center and is a senior. The son of Ed and Melissa Henry, Tanner also bagged a 10-point buck during hunting season.
