$200K In Illegal Cigarettes Seized
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – Two New York men are in custody after police in central Pennsylvania say they were busted with about $200,000 worth of illegal cigarettes during a traffic stop.
State police say 28-yearold Michael Costello, of Jackson Heights, N.Y., and 60- year-old Hongan Lai, of Elmhurst, N.Y., are in custody after being pulled over Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 81 near Harrisburg.
Authorities say they were driving a moving van carrying 65 cases of unstamped, untaxed cigarettes.
Costello is being held on $25,000 bail in Dauphin County Prison and Lai’s bail was set at $100,000. It was not clear if either man had an attorney.
