Violet V. Witter
Violet Vonalee Witter, 82, a resident of the Long-Term Care Unit of Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, and formerly of Waterfall, died Thursday afternoon, December 16, 2010, at the Medical Center.
Born July 2, 1928, in Maddensville, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Clifford L. and Fannie M. (Wible) Long. She was married to R. Dale Witter on December 20, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2001.
She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. James (Faye) Butts and Mrs. Clair (Kathy) Hedrick, both of Mc- Connellsburg; and a son, Richard Witter, and wife Ela of Jonestown, Pa.; six grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren; two brothers and two sisters: Paul Long, Chambersburg; Dorothy Rosenberger, St. Thomas; Charles Long, Lemasters; and Viola Keefer, Orrstown.
Four brothers and three sisters are deceased.
She attended chapel services at Fulton County Medical Center.
A homemaker, she was a graduate of Hustontown High School.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 20, 2010, at the M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Rev. Richard L. Bernhard, Medical Center chaplain, officiated. Interment was in Center Cemetery, Waterfall.
